Notes

  1. The source of the 1988-89 to 2001-02 data is Saskatchewan Health's year-end hospital files. The source of the 2002-03 data is CIHI's year-end Discharge Abstract Database for Saskatchewan Hospitals.
  2. Only Saskatchewan residents admitted to Saskatchewan hospitals are included.
  3. The CCP code for male circumcision is 76.0. The CCI code for male circumcision is 1.QD.89.^^.
  4. All three procedure fields were checked for a CCP code in the 1988-99 data. All ten procedure fields were checked in the 2000-01 data. All twenty procedure fields were checked in the 2001-02 and 2002-03 data.
  5. The counts include only circumcisions performed on newborns during their first hospital stay.
  6. Routine circumcisions on newborns were de-insured on August 1, 1996.
