REMEDY

Describe what you are asking the court to do about the law, policy or practice and how it will help you and others.

THE REMEDY being sought is twofold: first, to have paragraphs 3 and 4 of section 268 of the Criminal Code declared discriminatory as per section 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; second, to have the court recognize infant male circumcision as a violation of the child's rights under section 7 of the Charter.

We would like to see males' rights to genital integrity "read into" the existing legislation. We would also like to see the introduction of new legislation which complies with the provisions of the Charter by prohibiting genital mutilation of either sex.
