YOUR ARGUMENT/SUPPORT FOR YOUR CASE

Describe the rights you are relying on and where they come from (the Charter, the Constitution); talk about the court decisions in other cases which help your case and how you will use them in your argument; tell us if there are any other parties/interveners in the case who support your case; tell us if there are community groups or others who are helping you or support you but are not involved in the case.

ENCLOSED WITH our application is a paper entitled "Infant Male Circumcision: A Violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms." This paper outlines a number of higher court cases and decisions that have a bearing on the proposed action. The paper has been carefully researched and forms the academic basis of our position with respect to this matter.

We also enclose a collection of correspondence with various authorities to support our argument that males are systematically being denied their fundamental right to bodily integrity.

We have identified several potential witnesses who are supportive of our position. These individuals include prominent Canadian lawyers, ethicists, physicians and at least two community groups. To date we have not formally approached any of the potential witnesses to determine their positions on testifying in the proposed litigation. We believe we must further develop the proposed case and that officially contacting the potential witnesses will be one of the final steps of case development.
